NUMBERS OF PALESTINIAN PRISONERS TO FEB 6th, 2024

 

• 9000   is the overall number of the Palestinian detainees in the Israeli occupational 

  prisons to Feb 6th, 2024.

 

The number doesn’t include Gazans who were detained in internment camps amid the continued enforced disappearance. 

 

• 3483   is the number of the administrative detainees.

Among them are (11) female administrative detainees, at least (40) children, and 

(21) journalists

• 606 is the number of Gazans detainees whom the occupation identified as (unlawful 

combatants).

Those who were recognized by Israeli Prison Service, whereas Palestinian human rights organizations stresses that the real number of the detainees who  were identified as (unlawful combatants) is far greater than the announced number, amidst the refusal of the occupation to reveal any statistics on Gaza

detainees.

 

• 71        is the number of the female detainees in the occupational prisons.

This number includes only the female detainees in (Damon) prison, note that there 

is data on the presence of female Gazans inside the internment camps, the exact 

number and other data about them are uncertain.

 

• 200   detained children under the age of (18), knowing that the number of the detained 

children before Oct 7th, hit 180 detained children.

 

• 2300  is the number of the current Gaza detainees whom the occupation announced.

  There is no precise number of Gaza detainees, only the estimates indicate that    the number of Gazans, according to some released detainees’ testimonies, is 

    far greater than the announced number, as many as thousands.

• 244 martyrs, the number of the Palestinian Prisoner Club martyrs since 1967.

7   Palestinian martyrs prisoners since Oct 7th. They have not revealed the identity of one 

of them.

Alongside the Gazans who were executed in the occupational internment camps, where 

their identities and the conditions they have been through were not revealed.

As the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor stated that it had received testimonies 

about the martyrdom of two Gazans inside ‘Sde Teman’ internment camp, it’s notable 

that one of them is leg amputee, as Israel hasn’t officially announced their martyrdom.

 

• 700   sick prisoners.

 

• 578   is the number of Palestinian prisoners who were sentenced to life imprisonment 

(lifelong- 99 years).

 

• 47     is the number of the Palestinian prisoners who were released in 2011 prisoner 

              exchange (Wafa al-Ahrar) and rearrested by the occupational forces.

 

• 37     journalists are imprisoned, of whom are two female journalists, and 21 journalists

  are held under administrative detention.

 

• 17     deputies are imprisoned.

 

• 450   bodies of Palestinian martyrs are detained in the occupational morgues, among which 256  bodies of Palestinian     martyrs   are  detained  in  the  Israeli  ‘Cemetery 

of Numbers’, and since the return of the Israeli policy of detaining bodies of the 

Palestinian martyrs in2015, 194 bodies were detained.

18 of the detained bodies belong to prisoners found dead inside the occupational 

                       prisons.

21 bodies of Palestinian children under the age of 18.

5 bodies of Palestinian women.

52 bodies of Gazans, before Oct 7th, 2023.

 

• 6870  detention cases as of Feb  6th, 2024 from the West Bank after Oct 7th, 2023.

Including:

More than (215) Palestinian women.

More than (400) Palestinian children.

52 journalists, the occupation continued detaining (37), of whom are two female 

journalists.

Mentioning the child Yousef Al-khatib (17 years old), Ahmad khashan (18 years

old), and Mohammad Anis Torabi (16 years old), those who were released during 

prisoners exchange in November, 2023.

 

• 3000 detention cases in Gaza strip after Oct 7th, and some of whom were released 

according to preliminary estimates at least (200) Palestinian women and a young 

lady. There is no precise statistic of the detained Gazans so far, due to the 

enforced disappearance policy which is adopted by Israeli, bearing in mind the 

hard time of receiving reports resulted by the semi-permanent cut off communications and internet and also the dispersion of families.
